Radar is a bonus given by certain mods that will display targets in range on the player's minimap and map, and sometimes on the HUD. There are two types of radar: Loot Radar and Enemy Radar.
Loot Radar
Loot Radar shows nearby collectibles on the minimap:
- Pickup icon:
- Credits.
- Resource pickups.
- Lootables - including canisters, chests, crates, and lootable corpses (which only appear during the self-destruction environmental hazard).
- Medallions in Syndicate Alert Missions missions, as well as Voidplumes in Zariman (Tileset) missions and Voca in Albrecht's Laboratories missions.
- Resource Caches in eligible missions, including all Sabotage, Hive and certain Exterminate and Bounty missions.
- Ayatan Sculptures.
- Zarium Accolades in Zariman (Tileset) missions.
- Endo with a special icon.
- Mods with a special icon.
- Ayatan Stars with a special icon.
- Cephalon Fragments with a unique cyan icon

- Somachord fragments with a unique purple icon

- Frame Fighter fragments with a unique blue icon

- Efficiency Stimulus during Sanctuary Onslaught with a yellow-colored pickup icon.
- Will also highlight on the HUD mod objects as bright yellow/bright gold on the floor.
The following collectibles do not appear on the minimap:
- Dropped blueprints.
- Lockers - except Resource Caches that will in fact be displayed.
- Kurias.
Mods
The following mods provide the bonus, and the bonus values of extra horizontal detection range for the maximum mod rank:
Loot Detector: +30m (bonus given to the entire Squad)
Thief's Wit: +42m (self-only)
Animal Instinct: +30m (self-only)
Primed Animal Instinct: +55m (self-only)
Scan Matter: +60m (self-only, 8 seconds every 30 seconds)
Notes
- When in a mission with other players, resources picked up by a player will not disappear from the mini-map until every player in that mission has picked it up.
- A fully ranked
Loot Detector,
Thief's Wit and
Animal Instinct will give a total horizontal detection range of 102 meters. Can further stack by applying Animal Instinct to Venari while playing
Khora for a total horizontal range of 132 meters. Replacing
Animal Instinct with a fully ranked
Primed Animal Instinct on both a companion and Venari allows for the maximum possible horizontal range of 182 meters. - Vertical range of detection was fixed at 12 meters (making the area of detection a flat disk) until Update 35.5 (2024-03-27), when it was changed to be equal to the horizontal range (such that the volume is an equilateral cylinder, height equal to its diameter).
- Due to the random generation of tilesets, containers can appear on the map that players are unable to reach directly, due to them being in a location that may appear near but is only accessible from a different area of the map.
Enemy Radar
Enemy Radar, not to be confused with
the mod of the same name, shows nearby enemies as red arrows, the direction of the arrow represents the direction the enemy is facing. Arrow filling indicates mob alertness state:
- Hollow arrow: unalerted. The mob is either standing still, or patrolling by moving slowly along their predetermined patrol path. Synthesis Scanning the mob will result in a Stealth Scan giving double Cephalon Simaris
Standing. - Hollow arrow with a dot: alerted with position (either by being touched, receiving damage, hearing gunfire, a brief sighting of a potential target, or another fellow mob activating an alert console). The enemy will move quickly towards the position they have been alerted to. If the mob does not find any relevant targets at the position for 1 minute - they will switch back into unalerted (hollow arrow) state.
- Solid arrow:
- Synthesis target is always shown this way on the minimap, regardless of its actual alertness state.
- Alerted with a target. The mob is currently taking measures to eliminate their current target (e.g. Tenno player, their Companion or a mob from a rival Faction). Measures include: attacking the target, deploying a deployable (e.g. Corpus Osprey, Blunt), running towards the nearest alarm console, running towards cover/temporarily staying in cover in an attempt to recover shields, or to cause their target to lose vigilance or switch targets.
Mods
All Warframes and Operators have a base Enemy Radar of 30 meters (80 in Landscapes). The following mods provide the bonus, and the bonus values of extra horizontal detection range for the maximum mod rank:
Enemy Radar: +30m (bonus given to the entire Squad)
Vigilante Pursuit: +30m (self-only)
Enemy Sense: +30m (self-only)
Stealth Drift: +18m (self-only)
Animal Instinct: +18 (self-only)
Primed Animal Instinct: +33m (self-only)
Ivara's passive ability: +20m (self-only), increasing her base radar value to +50m
Revealing Spores: special behavior - instead shows only
Saryn-infected enemies as green arrows (self-only)
Notes
- A fully ranked
Enemy Radar,
Vigilante Pursuit,
Enemy Sense,
Stealth Drift and
Animal Instinct with innate 30m radar will give a total horizontal enemy detection range of 126 meters (146 meters when playing
Ivara, going up to 161 meters if replacing
Animal Instinct with a fully ranked
Primed Animal Instinct). Can further stack by applying Animal Instinct to
Venari while playing
Khora for a total horizontal range of 144 meters. Replacing
Animal Instinct with a fully ranked
Primed Animal Instinct on both a companion and Venari allows for the maximum possible horizontal range of 174 meters.
Patch History
Update 36.1 (2024-08-21)
- Increased innate Player Enemy Radar in Open Landscapes from 30m to 80m.
Update 35.5 (2024-03-27)
- (Undocumented) Removed vertical cap on radars.
Hotfix 34.0.2 (2023-10-19)
- Fixed the universal Enemy Radar applying to Conclave - this is a PVE only feature!
Update 34.0 (2023-10-18)
- Universal Enemy Radar
Players now have a Universal Enemy Radar set to 30m to help new players navigate through their missions. Warframe is more fun when you know where your foes are, and we felt that this important mechanic no longer needed to be tied to game progression.
Existing Enemy Radar Mods will simply add to the base Enemy Radar values!
ie. your Enemy Radar with Enemy Sense equipped would now be 60m!
