Storage Containers are breakable objects appearing in all mission types and can drop pickups such as credits, ammo, resources, and even mods.

Variations

Multiple variations of storage containers can also spawn once per mission. They are different in appearance (not to be confused with holiday/event themed containers) and give out a wide range of awards, such as trinkets of credits, ammo, resources, mods, faction parts or even a Forma. Every storage container has a small chance to drop an additional Ayatan Star.

Common Storage Containers

The most common variation of all Storage Containers and the most abundant in numbers. They are most often found in large numbers of up to 7 at once inside a vacant high-value hotspot.

When broken, they typically contain 0-3 of the following:

• A small to medium trinket of  Credits.
• A random type of ammo magazine.
• Energy Orb / Health Orb / Affinity Orb.
• Region Resources, a  Nav Coordinate, or rarely  Oxium.

• Containers found in Treasure Rooms, side rooms and hidden compartments throughout the Orokin Void have a chance to drop a mod from the Treasure Rooms mod list.

Uncommon Storage Containers

The second most common variation of the Storage Containers. Whilst somewhat more scarce, it still takes up a respectable portion of the Storage Containers present in the mission.

When broken, they typically contain 1-3 of the following:

• A small to medium trinket of  Credits.
• A random type of ammo magazine.
• Energy Orb / Health Orb / Affinity Orb.
• Region Resources, a  Nav Coordinate, or rarely  Oxium.

• Reinforced Carrypods on the Zariman can additionally contain a Parallax component.

Rare Storage Containers

A rare variation of the Storage Containers, their appearance is similar to the standard storage container, but with a golden glow and a humming noise identical to that of the Sabotage Resource Caches.

While they lack the distinct humming sound of other rare containers, Auroron Entrati Caskets, Mature Membroids, Muzureh Entrati Coffers, and Techrotted Crates are nevertheless rare.

• Auroron Entrati Caskets will only drop usual Cambion Drift resources, albeit rarer ones.
• Rare Empyrean containers will only drop Empyrean resources. See the Empyrean section of the drop tables below.
• Muzureh Entrati Coffers will only drop an  Entrati Lanthorn, as well as up to five Netracell rewards a week.
• Techrotted Crates will only drop a  Techrot Motherboard, but no Booster.

With the exception of the above, all containers usually contain:

• A medium to large trinket of  Credits.
• Mantis Engines (Grineer), Mantis Fuselage (Corpus), or Mantis Avionics (Orokin).
• A  Detonite Injector (Grineer),  Fieldron (Corpus),  Forma (Orokin, Zariman), or Captura Scene (Earth).
• 80  Endo.
• A 30-minute Affinity or Credit Booster.
• A low chance for a random weapon blueprint, including Research exclusive blueprints.

Each of the container variations (Grineer, Corpus, Orokin, Earth, Entrati, Zariman, Albrecht's Laboratories) has their own entry in the Codex. Whilst the Sentient and 1999 variations can be scanned and their entries completed, they will not appear in the Codex.

Reinforced Storage Containers

Reinforced containers, also known a Ultra-Rare containers, are the rarest of the Storage Containers and have their own models with significantly bulkier plating than the standard variants, plus the golden glow and humming sound of the rare storage container. They require more damage to break than any other container. The models also reflect this with sections breaking off as the container is damaged.

While they lack the distinct humming sound and increased health of other ultra-rare containers, Apex Membroids, Thalmin Entrati Coffers, and Techrotted Speakers are nevertheless ultra-rare.

• Reinforced Empyrean containers will only drop Empyrean resources. See the Empyrean section of the drop tables below.

With the exception of the above, they usually contain:

• A very large trinket of  Credits.
• Mantis Engines (Grineer), Mantis Fuselage (Corpus), or Mantis Avionics (Orokin).
• A  Detonite Injector (Grineer),  Fieldron (Corpus),  Forma (Orokin, Zariman, 1999), or 3  Entrati Lanthorn (Albrecht's Laboratories).
• 80  Endo.
• A 60-minute Affinity or Credit Booster.
• A low chance for a random weapon blueprint, including certain Research-exclusive blueprints.

Each of the container variations (Grineer, Corpus, Orokin, Zariman, Albrecht's Laboratories) has their own entry in the Codex. Whilst the Sentient and 1999 variations can be scanned and their entries completed, they will not appear in the Codex.

Resource Deposits

Resource Deposits are special containers that hold only a single type of resource. These deposits have a unique name and appearance matching the resource that they contain, and can only be found in the same areas as their associated resource. The rarity of deposits usually corresponds to the rarity of the contained resource; for example, Alloy Drums will be more common than Neural Arrays. Rare resource deposits can drop between 1 to 3 of the associated rare resource.

Each deposit has to be scanned five times to complete codex entry (currently, unscanned deposits will not be shown in Codex). 1999 deposits will not appear in the Codex, even when fully scanned, and Duviri deposits cannot be scanned at all.

Farming Tips

These are based on opinions and may not be true. These should be viewed as advice unless proven undoubtedly true. Check comments for confirmation. Results may vary.

• In any given mission, there is a low chance of a single Rare Storage Container and a lower chance of a single Reinforced Storage Container spawning somewhere in the map. If one spawns, it will randomly select a vacant high-value hotspot, similar to that of a Syndicate Medallion, and spawn in it.
•  Golden Instinct allows for a convenient way of locating rare stuff around a tileset, including those of the rare and reinforced containers. It is worth noting that an opened Rare/Reinforced Storage Container will not trigger Golden Instinct.
  • A tedious, yet reliable, method of farming rare and reinforced containers is to mod a Warframe with Golden Instinct for max Range, start a Capture mission, and cast Golden Intsinct. If it activates it will have detected an Ayatan Sculpture or a rare/reinforced container. Simply leave the mission and repeat if it detects nothing.
  • Auroron Entrati Caskets, (Ancient) Molted Casks, and Techrotted Crates/Speakers will not trigger Golden Instinct at all. It is unknown if this is a bug.
    • Lost Spirits on the Zariman can still lead players to (Ancient) Molted Casks. Collecting all Voidplumes and Zarium Accolades prior to activating a Globe Light will reveal if one is in the mission.
• Special mission types like Alerts and Syndicate missions have a higher than average chance of spawning rare and reinforced containers.
• Dark Sectors seem to have an increased chance to spawn Rare and Reinforced Containers.
• Several abilities can break nearby containers, including:
  •  Limbo's  Cataclysm
  •  Equinox's  Mend & Maim: Cast Maim, kill enemies to charge it, then release Maim for a nuke that can break containers
  •  Chroma's Heat or Toxin  Elemental Ward
  •  Yareli's  Aquablades
  •  Revenant's  Danse Macabre
  •  Xaku's  The Vast Untime can break containers at very long range
  •  Gara's  Splinter Storm
  •  Octavia's  Mallet
  •  Gyre's  Rotorswell
  •  Dante's  Dark Verse
  •  Carrier's exclusive mod  Looter
• It is helpful to go into your Options menu, under the Audio Tab, and make sure your "Sound Effects Volume" is at max while all other volume controls being down. Rare Containers and Caches make a humming noise and this will make them easier to find.

Notes

• Lockers will use the relevant common container drop table.
• When affected by  Mirage's  Sleight of Hand ability, the container will blind enemies in a radius around the container when broken, but only if the container has not already been looted.
• All storage containers in Empyrean missions contain 15  Endo, making it a decent source of early game Endo especially when paired with  Master Thief and/or  Scavenge.
  • Rarer containers will have an increased amount of Endo (up to 50 per pickup).
  • Oddly, this Endo in also seems to be counted as a resource drop and benefits from Uncommon, Rare, and Reinforced containers' innate 200, 300, and 400% drop chances.
• Containers on the Cambion Drift will reward far more resources than normal containers of the same tier, often including mining, fishing and general Deimos resources.

Trivia

• Before the  Boar Prime was moved into the Prime Vault, Reinforced Orokin Containers used to drop its blueprint. There was a brief time after it was moved into the Prime Vault that it still dropped from the containers.
• Darvo has a reinforced Orokin container in the back of his store.
• During Warframe's Closed Beta period there was only one storage container variant, simply called "Storage Container", that was visually identical to old common Corpus containers. It was soon replaced by the current faction-based storage containers, but could still occasionally appear as late as 2015.
  • Containers during the Closed Beta could also drop mods, before they were switched to enemy drops.
• Before they were removed Trials had significantly increased chances of encountering Rare and Reinforced Containers, to the point that as many as six may have been found over the course of a single Trial. The modified tileset of Trials included several designated spawn points for these containers, which could speed up your search if you knew where to look, though they had occasionally been known to spawn out of bounds or in walls, making them inaccessible. They could be blown up with explosive weapons, however, and the rewards could be collected via  Vacuum.

Bugs

• Dying and reviving, after receiving boosters from the Rare Storage Containers, will remove the accumulated duration of the boosters gained from the containers.
• A picked up booster may not always be visible, even if it is in fact active.
• The Codex images for the Common, Uncommon, and Rare Corpus containers no longer accurately portray their in-mission appearance. The Codex models will appear properly, however.
• Lockers in Empyrean missions will always use the Empyrean common Grineer container variant drop tables.
